Mitigation Insurance Estimator

Salary: $60,000-$85,000 (depending on experience)

As a Desk Estimator, you will receive information and documentation after property disasters to accurately scope projects and get estimates approved for our mitigation team. You will build relationships with insurance professionals and represent Modernistic well in the property insurance industry. You will monitor referral program files to ensure compliance to all SLA standards. You will use estimate writing software such as Xactimate and Symbility, as well as Salesforce for internal file management.

Candidate must reside in or near one of our service territories (Grand Rapids, Plainwell, Lansing, Troy, Saginaw or Traverse City)

Responsibilities

• Use information provided by field technicians and project managers to write estimates (scopes, sketches, photos, reports)
• Write estimates in accordance with insurance carrier guidelines
• Profitability and accurately write estimates
• Make adjustments to estimates as needed based on PM, adjuster, TPA input
• Explain / justify estimate line items with professionalism and care
• Communicate with adjusters, customers, and TPA professionals as needed
• Maintain referral program files with appropriate documentation
• Maintain margin requirements and service level agreements on assigned files
• Participate in the on-call rotation, requiring evening and weekend point of contact for any new losses, as determined by the rotating schedule

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and with empathy
• Must be highly proficient in Xactimate
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus, but not required
• Proficient with other industry programs (MICA, XactAnalysis, Symbility, AlacNet)
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with TPA program requirements such as Alacrity, Sedgwick, Lionsbridge is a plus, but not required
• Career emphasis on learning and continuing education
• Sound planning and organizational skills
• IICRC certifications in WRT, FST, etc are a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of insurance industry and the claims process is a must
• Must be a stickler for details and managing deadlines
